Great Restaurant and Bar. Relaxed here before heading over to Mackinac Island. Tammy and her Daughter served up smiles and laughter. Make no mistake the food here 5 stars. Cod Basket 8$ and Whitefish Ruben worth chosen. I was here durning lunch and it was mello and awesome.

Cheap bar food that was worth the drive. The service/staff get 5 stars. They were great! Some things tasted like they were pre-made or as my friend said the chicken tasted like fast food chicken if you know what that means. I figure it's a bar and you get what you pay for. I had the white fish sandwich which was so-so. Next time- I'll get the fries and burgers people keep recommending.

Worth checking out if you're in the area looking for bar good. The service was excellent. The food was pretty good, not great. I had a French dip. The meat was a little chewy and over cooked, but the pretzel bun helped make up for it. We ordered a pizza, it came out very greasy. 2 out of 3 eating it enjoyed it. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and very clean/updated restrooms. Unfortunately while eating we did have to listen to a full time St. Ignace resident sit at the bar and complain about "tourist" and how much he disliked people.

Although everyone I dined with actually loved their food (if the service was better if give them a 4 star but you'll hear alllllll about that....) I cannot get over how horrible the our waitress was. We placed our orders around 745pm and everything we got was pretty simple stuff. A wrap, a club, a pizza and a quesadilla. We didn't get our food until around 10pm. Now waiting for your food when your hungry already sucks but to have a waitress that was absolutely rude as hell sure doesn't make it any better. She checked on us once while we were waiting and our drinks were all empty for over 30mins, she'd tell us something WHILE walking away, no direct eye contact and very rude and defensive attitude for no reason. When our food did come out it was one dish at a time with about 5mjns in between each dish so the last person to get their food felt awkward and rushed to eat since everyone else was done. Food might be good but I wouldn't recommend dining at this place even if it was the open restaurant off the island. If you do decided to dine here avoid the girl with dark choppy hair that busted her head in a car accident.

*big sigh*** There are just very few options if you're off the Island. Absolutely no night life here. A couple of restaurants and a couple of bars to choose from. Even the casino closes at 10 pm!!! What the...???? This is as "small town" as it gets. Timmy Lee's is fine I guess. We had a couple of burgers. We weren't asked how we wanted them prepared so I knew that meant they would be well done...and well done they were. My girlfriend is currently laying in our hotel bed because she doesn't feel well. She blames the food. I feel fine. The drinks were strong and then beer was fresh. The staff was....fine and did just enough so that we didn't feel ignored. If this place was anywhere near civilization they would get a lower (much lower) rating but hey, when you're the prettiest man in prison........... (Eat and drink on the Island if possible)

We ate here on Saturday night after asking our hotel front desk for ideas. She had said this was her personal favorite. It is just outside of town so it wasn't packed. It is a rural bar type atmosphere but there were kids here in the side dining room. The atmosphere is bar not fine dining. I had a ribeye. It was ok. I was not unhappy but not crazy about it. I should have ordered the burger. But that is just me second guessing. My wife had ribs. She said they were great. Perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The waitress was terrific. She waited to make sure my steak was cooked correctly. She was attentive and happy.

Skimpy portions and a mediocre fish sandwich. Impossible I thought, but true at this place. The gravy was good. The rest was meh... There are better places to eat I would guess. Went here just because of Yelp - first time (perhaps ever) I felt mislead.

Definitely a local place but very welcoming to visitors. We almost passed this one by as it looked very humble from the outside but the inside was nicely done, the place was clean and the service was quick and friendly. My husband and I both ordered the whitefish baskets which were fantastic the onion rings and fries were delicious. They had the usual kids menu and brought a place mat and crayons to keep the little guy occupied which is always appreciated. We would defiantly go back.

This place is great!! Delicious food, fun relaxed atmosphere, excellent service! The UP fries were amazing!

Of all the places in this area this is the best. I'm actually thankful it's here or I'd be stuck with the other food restaurants. I ordered the ribeye and it was amazing. Thick and cooked to perfection. The rest of my family's food was also amazing. This is your restaurant if your looking for good food.

Great food and wonderful service! I had french onion soup, which was really good. The french dip sandwhich was also amazing and the beer battered onion rings were great too! My husband had the whitefish tacos and he really enjoyed them too. Even the kids chicken tenders were impressive - the batter was so good!

We wanted to get away from the crowds in/around the restaurants in downtown St. Ignace. Timmy Lee's was convenient (we were staying in St. Ignace), but far enough away! As others have noted, it is a bit more of a locals place. The decor was largely based on Detroit sports teams (always a plus!). We sat in the bar and both has burgers...and both of us enjoyed them. The service was efficient and friendly. TL's is definitely worth a look when you want good basic food and good service in a friendly environment!

YES YES YES absolutely as good as it gets in St. Ignace. We didn't go here until several locals recommended it, since we aren't into 'bar food." Thats not what this is at all, its awesome. Go on Saturday for the prime rib and have a nice drink to go with it. Again, awesome. So thankful this place is here to save me from eating at some of the other aweful places in the area.

We stopped here for dinner and my husband had the whitefish on a plank and I had the whitefish tacos. I enjoyed the tacos. The whitefish plank was a large fillet and was tasty. Next time I will try the whitefish filet and the whitefish tidbit appetizer.

This is definitely the best food around St Ignace. Prime rib (sat only) best I've had in years and I've eaten a feedlot full in my life. My wife's bacon cheese burger was excellent too. The drinks are very reasonably priced (alcohol). The waitress was fast and friendly especially considering the work load as the place was very busy. Another patron was expounding on the high quality of the fish and I believe he was truthful. I wish we had tried this place earlier cause we're leaving town tomorrow. We had a little trouble finding a parking spot and their lot isn't small so the car test was right again. if you have read any of my other reviews you know I don't hand out accolades easily.

My husband were visiting St. Ignance for my birthday and I always use Yelp reviews when trying to find a place to eat. Let me say this was bar none one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. If I could give them a zero star I would. We waited over 20 minutes just to be acknowledge. Then we ordered the U.P. Fries and they tasted like soap. We will never ever be back again.

    (1)
  • Bevan L.

Definitely try the UP fries, burgers and fries were great and my wife said the onion rings were great. This place is just outside of "downtown" St. Ignas and we were really surprised, this is also a bar and thy have a couple bar games to play.

  • M M.

The restaurant is your typical bar and pub appearance on the inside, and definitely not very impressive from the outside, but the food is really good and worth stopping in. My husband and I both ordered the smothered grilled chicken and it was very good. We had salads along with our meal, with homemade raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Our waitress was also very nice so I am giving Timmy Lee's 4 stars.

  • Sharon S.

What a great little place. Yes, it's a bar, but nicely done. I had the whitefish sandwich and my husband had an olive burger and they were both wonderful. We were hoping to get an order of onion rings but they were out (bummer) soooo.. We made due with the French fries which were delicious.

The exterior matches the interior, don't mistake it, it's a bar. Walking in you know you're in the UP at a locals watering hole. That said, the menu offers a wide range of options other than your typical fried bar food. We started with drinks, they had a domestic beer special that was great. We also had spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer that was 1 star worthy. Don't ever order that. Entrees included a salad that was just a typical side salad. I ordered the planked white fish which was soggy and tasteless and came with a side of steamed store bought veggies. My husband had the ribs and they were fall off the bone delicious. My stars are for he service and the ribs

Food ok, service ok. Menu has steak, fish, and traditional pub food.

This place is a rare find among the run-of-the-mill, bland, fried food eateries all around the U.P. There are some really creative and interesting menu options, and everything is packed with flavor. The whitefish Reuben was so good I came back the next day to get it again. The beer battered fries don't even need a dipping sauce, but I added a side of gravy and was very glad I did because it was steaming hot and had a rich, deep flavor to it. The second day there were some service hiccups and part of our order was wrong or cold. But, there was only one waitress for a packed house who was clearly doing her best to keep up with everyone's orders and deal with the mix ups in kitchen. Our friends also raved about the mushroom swiss burger, and the onion rings, cheese curds and crab "leegoons" were great, as well. This will be a regular stop when we're going through St. Ignace for us. Great, now I want another whitefish sandwich and fries with gravy after writing this and am four hours away. Womp womp. Thanks for the hockey tournament weekend sustenance, Timmy Lee's!

Don't let the small building fool you. They make some serious burgers here. This has to be one of the best burgers I've ever eaten, all 3/4 lb of it. Get "the bing".

What a treat! Friendly helpful staff. We originally stopped hoping for a pasty as part of our meal. Our waiter explained that one of the best pasty places was right next door so they stopped selling them, then he asked if we still wanted to stay. We're glad we did. The fresh whitefish tacos were tasty, the reuben was just as good and the sooner dooper yooper was even better (they offered to make a half order of that because it was for our son, just ask for the 'Jerry'). Thanks fellow yelpers for pointing this place out!

Quite a nice surprise as we stopped on our way to Mackinac City with our whole family. We all ordered the fried fish and/or fried shrimp baskets and all were pleased. A couple of us had the onion rings which we're delicious and one had the sweet potato fries which were also pretty good. Prices were reasonable and the drinks were ice cold!! Would definitely stop here again.

I was distressed to read that a previous reviewer was treated rudely. I encourage you to try Timmie Lee's again when you're in the area. My wife and I are from St. Louis, MO and as ex-Michiganders we return to northern Michigan and the UP year after year. We prefer eateries that the locals frequent. Both the food and the prices seem much better than more pretentious spots. Timmie Lee's is a great example of our rule. We've been there twice on weeknights just as the place was filling up and both experiences were well worth the four stars. During our first visit the owner was making the rounds of the tables and treated us as warmly as the regulars, thanking us for stopping by, asking about our tastes in food and drink and trading one-liners (a favorite pastime). We're perch fanatics and can't get northern perch in St. Louis (though the catfish is superior). Timmie Lee's serves some of the best and most plentiful at a decent price. On our second visit just a few weeks ago we arrived early, before the rest of the wait staff, and the bartender not only came out to serve our drinks and take our order but was fun and attentive throughout the meal which was perch again. We also snacked on some whitefish bites that were addictive. It was obvious that the other diners were satisfied and having a good time as well with other menu items. This is a terrific pub and will continue to be a regular stop on our travels north.

Great food and beer! Super Duper Yooper is amazing and white fish was very good. Get the fries. Good service even for a busy Friday evening.

Most happening bar in the area. Great place to dance. I have never actually ate there just have been there to drink.

Great food! My son and I had the white fish nibblers (fried) with fries. The fries are beer battered. Try them with a side of gravy! Fish was fresh and delicious. My husband had The Bing which was a 3/4 lb cheeseburger with bacon. He is pretty picky on his hamburgers and he said it was really good. Prices were very reasonable. We would go back.

Timmy Lee's is a local favorite, that being said, the staff there was incredibly rude even though the waitress is somehow related to the owner. The food was great. My son loved the Chipolte burger. It's typical bar fare. My problem here is if you're not a local then you probably will not have a great time here. The staff is inattentive and the other patrons are openly rude and hostile, unless of course you are in the local clique. Will I go back, probably. The food is better than average and I'd be willing to try some other items.

What a great little treasure to find just over the bridge! We were driving through around lunch time and wanted something OTHER than lame fast food. But once you get over the Mackinaw Bridge it looks like there's nothing but trees... So Yelp strikes again - we found this great little spot just about a 1/2 mile off the highway and it was so worth taking a chance on a local spot. The location dot is a little off, but you'll find what looks like a blue house just past the Pasties place and don't drive by. When you walk in you'll find a cozy local pub with a nice vibe and great menu. We were there in the middle of the day so it wasn't really busy, but the bartender was so friendly and kept our drinks filled and plates full. The menu features what you'd think of as pub fare, but they do ad a lot of local twists (like white fish right out of Lake Superior). Everyone enjoyed their meal and the atmosphere - half the group so much they stopped in again as they drove by on their way home. (the pizza was a hit that time). If you're heading to Mackinaw or the UP, this is a great place to stop!

Overall pleased. Went in kind of late on a weeknight and waited a few minutes to be attended to, and that lasted through out the night, but the food was worth the wait. Will be going back soon.

While on a road trip for Memorial Day weekend, I happened to be across the bridge into the U.P. After hours on the rod, who wouldn't want to fill their belly and have a cold drink on a nice day? I had read some reviews on Yelp, and Timmy Lee's Pub was highly recommended. The options of course weren't overwhelming, so the choice was easier. This pub was grossly different on the inside than what the typical yooper exterior had me believing. The stone bar, neat memorabilia, and a rustic feel had me feeling right at home. The bar selection was pretty decent, I was thinking they would only have Busch light but there was lot more. My thirst was quenched with a cool pint of New Holland Full Circle for $4. There were a few burgers on the menu and I picked the Pepper Jack Bacon Chipotle. Apparently their burgers are fresh ground chuck from the Pines Trading Post, made into 1/3 lb and then the pepper jack, hardwood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, and chipotle sauce sitting on a toasted bun. I have to say I was eager to conquer this mess. Burger- 2 Price- 3 Service- 2.5 Overall- 2.5 The burger with all of the embellishment just didn't have much taste. It should have reigned supreme. Overall came from the not very friendly service. They are also known for their pizza, problem... No pizza dough. In reality though it is probably a good place to kill the night. It has the billiards and the layout to be a fun joint after dark. Maybe one day I'll know.

The very best Pizza/ flavored crust. Try the hot roast beef sandwich. Pretzel roles on the burgers.

Awesome food! Extremely clean. Great Service. We stopped at this restaurant because of the high reviews and it didn't disappoint. We went for Lunch today and came back for Dinner. Excellent food. Whitefish nibblets and the Whitefish plank dinner was awesome.

Phenomenal service, comfortable atmosphere; just out of downtown, so plenty of parking! The food was pretty tasty as well - try the whitefish tacos!
